Meet The Band Director

  Mr. Daniel J. Fenton is a product of the Michigan Public School system. He graduated from Sterling Heights High School,and earned a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education from Eastern Michigan University. He has studied Saxophone under Dr. Woody Chenoweth and has performed in multiple states such as Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois, Virginia, and Michigan. He has also performed in masterclasses for notable performers such as Dr. Otis Murphy, Dr. Tim McAllister, and Dr. Jeff Heisler. You may have seen him performing as the principal saxophonist of the Eastern Michigan University Wind Ensemble under direction of Dr. Mary Schnieder and the EMU Jazz Band under the director of Dr. Donald Babcock. During his time at EMU, he was drum major of the EMU Marching Band, winner of the William Stewart Concerto Competition, and has earned multiple awards for outstanding leadership. He also served in the Honorary Band Fraternity, Kappa Kappa Psi, as service coordinator in addition to the Professional Music Fraternity, Mu Phi Epsilon, as the head of finance. 

Mr. Fenton started his career as Director of Instrumental Music at Bryant Middle School in Dearborn Public Schools. As director, he worked with the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade band and orchestra, Jazz Band, and chamber music ensembles. Mr. Fenton is an active member of the Michigan Schools Band and Orchestra Association.
